The latest gossip all about me is right here for you to see

This is what is being said by "Allen" at The Daily Kos....

"The Modern Republican Woman: Let Bush Have 'em
by rightchristians Sat Mar 27th, 2004 at 02:37:36 GMT

Bloggers "meet" interesting people electronically. Over the past several weeks, I've had a persistent commenter at my blog, The Right Christians, who first appeared as an antichoice advocate. Today, she expanded her dissent when I attacked the Bushies as people who never had to say they were sorry. She left her weblog address and it turned out to be fascinating.

At top is her disclosure that she's currently reading "Confessions of a Shopaholic." Then she exults in the fact that she's #5 on Yahoo's search engine for "spring lipstick 2004." Earlier, she agonizes over shoe shopping versus book shopping. Frankly, I began to think this must be a parody. There are some voters you should not try to attract. Let Bush have them. "

Oh, and also published in the comment section of The Right Christians post
that posed the question: "Has there ever been an administration that has
trampled on honor, dignity and right more than this one?" I pointed a few (one
Democrat, two Republican) that I think have acted in far more despicable ways.
These were Allen's thoughts about my comments:

"Rae,

I appreciate your openness about your weblog address and see that you're as much a Republican as I am a Democrat. You should be congratulated on being 5th on a Yahoo search for "spring lipsticks 2004." It was no particular surprise to me that "Confessions of a Shopaholic" was what beautiful young Republican mothers are reading these days.

The Repub talking points seem directed at this rather desperate point at making
this into "Repubs say, Dems say" instead of a serious inquiry into whether, or
rather how our government failed us. Few are buying here or nationally, I think.
Also, we're all rather used to the "blame Clinton" routine, but I haven't heard
"blame JFK" too much yet. Perhaps you're ahead of the curve there. Excuse my
being really horrible, but are you real? This particular excerpt is so far out
of the range of my reality that I have a little difficulty accepting it as
legitimate blogging:

Book shopping is next to shoe shopping in the thrill of the
hunt. There are so many similarities. So many choices, styles, and colors. Some are comfy, some aren't so comfy but look so damn good you have to wear them! Some are for going out in and some are for stepping out in. Some are quick and easy. Others are a little more challenging.

So this is the female vote in the Republican party? Seems too stereotyped to be real. Maybe I'm just in a mean mood.

My response to all of this had to be posted at Allen's above mentioned site as he has either blocked or banned me (and deleted or removed comments from people "defending" my intelligence") from commenting at his other one, Daily Kos. So, here it is:

"Well, Allen, I thank you for the traffic you have generated to my site. I have received numerous letters expressing sympathy at your smear campaign. Several points:
1) Yes, I did leave my site information. I don't hide. I have commented several
times on this site. I have stated that I enjoy it because I am challenged by the
thoughts presented here.
2) I don't maintain a "political blog." It is a
personal blog. Although, you indicate that "real" blogging is only politically
affiliated. I think that leaves many blogs out there as "illegitimate."
3) Your stereotyping, meanness, whatever you want to call it, is just that.
4) If reading Atlantic Monthly, Harper's, and listening to NPR is stereo-typically
Republican, then, that is news for me.
5) I don't know a woman alive (even my "token" [just gettin' you started there knowing that you will make such statements] lesbian friends) who doesn't like to find a deal- shoes, lipsticks, books, whatever can save a buck (P.S. have you read Shopaholic? I don't think you must have or you would know there is a pretty good premise behind it- but then, you are better than to read anything "just for fun" I am sure).
6) Nice editing you put on the post that I wrote about shoe shopping being compared to book shopping (not versus, look up the definitions, they are different). Should you have read further, you would have seen the requirements that I personally have for choosing a children's book. Notice, political content and spin isn't on the list (neither is heel height to skirt length).
7) You have educated me. I was unaware that one's personal (and confessed materialistic, though recovering albeit)interests declared intelligence and confirmed the rightness of one's political lean.
8) Foolish me for thinking that one could have civil discourse with those of different political swing. Ohmigod- silly me, I am so sure, like I somehow thought, that like, I could maybe, see things from a different, ummm,
what's the word, uh...gosh it's so hurting my brain to think.... perspective
(just trying to adjust my limited, unintelligent, discompassionate, fake,
Republican woman's vocabulary to fit the stereotype you are wanting to make
into- how was that?)

I will leave the site now. I didn't realize (once again, foolish little ignorant Republican girl that I am) that the posters on this site really only wanted people who thought just like them to comment. Anytime someone has dared to dissent they have been descended upon, some viciously, some very respectfully (patann and Beth I am speaking specifically of you two-thank you).

I am offended only at your attacking me personally, which is something that I
never did to anyone on this site. I must go teach my light-headed unintelligent
girls all the fun out there waiting to be had...(you know, which outfit to wear
to the upcoming state convention, how to coordinate their make-up and
little-bitty nails, and get their pearls polished). Thanks for the ride. It has
been fun (and has let me know definitely which sweater and accessories to wear to a blog of opposing political ideals).

Not wanting to appear or to be ungrateful, I realized that I had forgotten to
address something:

"Allen-I forgot to thank you for complimenting my beauty and my "youth" (I don't want to be ungrateful- false modesty is detestable). Thank
you.

I also wanted to say that I tried to post on your site directly, but for some reason, I haven't been able to? Any ideas why? Also, several people have
tried to post there in my "defense" and have had them removed...do you know what the problem could be? Instead, I will copy your post from your site, paste it into my blogger post, and then copy my response there for all to see. Comments are welcome- I won't remove them due to language, mud-slinging, or differing opinions (maybe for lack of coordinating colors, perhaps, but otherwise...)

I just thought that riffling through my unmentionable drawer might be a bit fun for all my traffic. I have always thought it better to hang my own laundry out to dry. It gives us all a better sense of one another, doesn't it?

Allen deleted my comment, but I responded as well. Not that he'll take anything to heart, I don't think...

Thank you ever so much, Jeff- a true gentleman (gasp! and not a liberal-{hand thrown dramatically across mouth}).

As awful as this is to say, I'm kinda glad that Right Christians did this to you - because I have discovered your blog. What this so-called Christian had to say about you just proves how wrong of a Christian he is.
I'm adding you to my blogroll, I'll try to read you every chance I get!

Posted by: Beth at April 10, 2004 10:39 PM

Why is it that so many people calling themselves "Christians" are mean-spirited, condesending, hypocritical asshats who fail to realize it? (Not that I'm not any of those things, but I'm a Catholic, and our mean-spirited, hypocritical nature is practically a matter of public record.)

Doug, I was just at your site checking it out (loved your comments over at TRC).

I don't know-I truly don't know-but I think Allen has unfortunately allowed the "anger of man" to achieve "unrighteousness."

You are a delightfully funny commentator (dry is delicious in certain combinations)-must blogroll you.

Posted by: Rae at April 10, 2004 10:41 PM

Rae,

You have been a busy lady while I have been gone! Wow! I just checked (I'm still learning about alllllllll of this blog stuff) and you are ranked # 1 on the Yahoo search.

You girl are amazing!

From someone who can change the http format on her blog,
Amy

ps do you think it will remain green and orange forever???

Posted by: Amy at April 10, 2004 10:42 PM

I found you from a comment you left at Dean's. Amen, sister!

Pretty snarky attack on you, but I think you countered quite well.

Don't let the leeches get you down. Just pick them off and continue on your merry way.
