The Best Concert

Last night I met Paul McCartney, Heather Mills, and Annie Lennox. I was at an Annie Lennox concert when several concert goers and myself heard that previous to the concert, a new music video was going to be filmed in the empty building across from the venue. Many of us slipped across the wet street and climbed the stairs. We commented among ourselves at the lack of security; however grateful for it.

Our group of about 50 people stood against the walls. The stairwell was closed after our arrival. They decided to incorporate us into the video, so they told us to begin to dance on the side lines and that Annie would come along and randomly grab people to dance with her. I was picked!

We danced and laughed. I wasn't unnerved at all (surprising as I think about it now). I closed my eyes for a moment, lulled by the music and the movement. When I opened them, she had moved on to someone else.

When the filming stopped, she thanked us and said she thought it had turned it out well. After signing a few autographs, she disappeared through a door. I turned to make my way out, when someone tapped me on the shoulder. She looked very familiar; I mean her name was on the tip of my tongue... Heather....Heather Mills! She was very casual in her approach and quite friendly. She turned to her left and Sir Paul stepped forward. I am sure my mouth hung open. He smiled politely and pointed my attention to the digital camera he held in his hand. There was a picture of me and Annie Lennox looking at one another laughing at some private joke- just like old friends. He said he happened to take it and wondered if I would like a copy? Answering an enthusiatic yes, I proceeded to pen my name and address down for him. He handed me a business card and told me to "hunt him down" if I don't get it within a few weeks. I placed the card in my jean's pocket. They turned and left with a small wave and grin.

I sheepishly waved back and turned to trip down the first three steps. Wow! What an experience! I made it down to the street. The crowd was dispersing for the wail of a sirening vehicle. I stepped off the curb and.....woke-up.

Okay, I was reading this thinking, What! She didn't say a word about this on the phone! I thought, this friend of mine is soo cool, that things like this happen to her and are so commonplace that she doesn't even mention them when we chat on the phone. Then after the reality hit, I was totally let down! I so wanted it to be not a dream only!

It was a dream, a very lucid one, that I had the other night.

I was telling E that I need to e-mail Natalie and let her know it was a dream. We were discussing that the last part "I stepped off the curb and...woke up" could make it seem like it literally did happen and stepping off the curb made it all seem like a dream. I actually stepped off the curb (in the dream) and literally woke up-opened my eyes to R's alarm (the siren in the dream).

You were disappointed? I was so bummed that it didn't really happen, but then I was glad to have had a really "possible" dream instead of some subconscious labyrinth to navigate.

So, thus it is said. It was a dream. i have been so busy today, that this is the first chance I have had to respond to the comments.

Was that scenario for real or was the woke up part the clue it was all in your head?
