Oh, yeah, that's a good list of songs. You have no idea how much I love both the good and the bad of 80's music.

Rae, I have to say that I love some of the Depeche Mode from the 80's, but since it's been a while back, I can't even remember the names, what can I say! hey for coming over last night, I needed some fresh air, Have a Great day!!!!

oh, I forgot The Cranberries, and the song Zombie(like your friend up there), it's one that reminds me my teenage years, fun and depressing!

"Your Own Personal Jesus" was one of them Flaca. I loved that song. Oh, I just remembered "Into the Silence," that's the other one. I had the CD of those but can't find it anywhere now.

Man, I was born at the wrong time...I love the music of the 80's. Music that you could actually dance to. (I have yet to figure out how to dance to rap music). Thanks for the chance to sit back and play those songs in my head, Rae!

I love the Reflex the most... ; )

Oh, Jennifer- a fellow Duran Duran fan, eh?

Posted by: Rae at July 22, 2004 05:05 PM

Kadi- I think fortunately for you (and me :) all the stores are playing the '80s music and I think that stores are stocking all inclusive CD's of Top40/100 hits, so girl, you can dance all over your house. Although, I have skipped a few songs so as to avoid being questioned about them (from the girls).

What, No 'Talking Heads' or 'Hall and Oats'?

I still like the list though.

"The One Thing" and "Don't Change" from INXS' Shabooh Shoobah

Anything by Ultravox

Great list.

Now gentleman, didn't I emphasize some? I love Talking Heads and Hall and Oats, but it was very late when I was writing this one, so....I plan to revisit.

Hey neighbor John-thanks for the link:)

I also loved Inxs- being a pop music gal they were the first band that I really listened to that challenged my political thoughts.

I can think of two more groups/singers to add:

Tears for Fears: Everybody Wants to Rule the World (loved it at the end of Real Genius)

Rick Astley: Never Gonna Give You Up (that guy had a great voice)

Luckily, Houston has an 80's station, 106.9 The Point, so no I get to subject my kids to it as well.

Mwuahahahahaha!

I'm a sucker for 80's music. I don't know why, but I think that later pop music (a la Britney, and the like) simple doesn't measure up.

Plan to write about it soon in my blog.
