I'm just sad that it appears the only way LaShawn will ever stop blogging is if she dies. For, while I find her opinions on many topics to be offensive and her dead-serious, self-righteous Christian crusaderism to be nauseating, I'd certainly never wish death upon her.

As for what happens to the WWR if I die... I'll be dead, it's not worth much money, so I don't much care.

Andy, that's very strange. I cannot imagine a grown-up being offended by another person's opinion. Unless for some reason my standard "offended" response is to roll my eyes, shake my head, and walk away.

Yeah, maybe that's it.

You can't? You must live in a particularly sheltered or perhaps imaginary world, as I can think of several opinions that would offend me.

Anti-gay bigotry based on a two thousand year old book written by ignorant men, for example. Anti-Semitic nonsense based on another holy book, say. Maybe people who would praise the death of someone like Rosa Parks. Yeah, all those opinions offend me.

If only I could be like you, all grown-up with nary a care in the world.

On the other hand, the immature presentation of an opinion can be offensive...

Gentlemen, shall you step outside? ;)

Shewt. I have too many dead websites out there already. Jeremy-Gilby-dot-com wont be alone.

Andy, I know that you don't prefer La Shawn, but that doesn't at all surprise me. I, however, do really like her, but don't dislike her when I find that I disagree.

Call me Polly for short :D

Rae -

I don't dislike people with whom I simply disagree. I do, however, dislike thin-skinned, echo-chamber, self-important people like Ms. Barber.

She's a sad caricature of some of the worst of the religious right, and her continued protestations about not caring what others think (while spending a thousand words telling us repeatedly just what she doesn't care about) are evidence of a fragile ego.

So, yeah, I don't much care for that.

McGehee -

If snark is a sign of immaturity, then I'd say that you and I are both still in diapers.
